Te Awamutu is located about 30km south of Hamilton City, in the Waikato district of the North Island, New Zealand (Aotearoa). Surrounded by many smaller rural communities, Te Awamutu provides a diverse range of services, facilities and attractions.

Te Awamutu's friendly community services a large rural area of dairy, sheep, beef farms, the traditional old New Zealand town feeling exists when you stroll down the street on a unique small town shopping experience. Eating out is an easy and pleasant experience with many restaurants within a short walk of the town centre.

Te Awamutu calls itself the ‘Rose Capital of New Zealand’. During the blooming season, November to April, 2000 rose bushes in the rose garden turn on the charm with a beautiful technicolor display.

Te Awamutu also has an excellent museum, with a large collection of Maori treasures and stories from the Waikato land wars. A display about local music heroes Tim and Neil Finn (Split Enz and Crowded House) is another drawcard.
